WIWW: Getting ready for Thanksgiving!

It's been a crazy week. {And I'm happy that the craziness is almost over.} I have to work a couple hours this morning and then I'm off to spend 5 days with my family for Thanksgiving. It will be a much needed break. I can't wait to see my parents, my Grandma, my brothers and sis in law. To play our traditional holiday games, play in the snow, swim in the beautiful indoor pool and just enjoy each others company.

Yesterday I was finishing our last minute errands and this is what I wore:

Sweater and blouse: Target. Pants: Ross. Boots: Torrid. Watch: Michael Kors. Washer Necklace: Made by me using supplies sent to me from my awesome Package Pal.

I am so excited for Thanksgiving. And to be going to a secluded ski resort so I can't even think about Black Friday shopping.

What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Do you do the whole Black Friday thing?

Have you entered my Giveaway? If you haven't yet go check it out. You may just win this Owl Rice Bag.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

C.R.A.F.T. Package Pals

Are you as obsessed with C.R.A.F.T. {Creating Really Awesome Free Things} as I am? Seriously, an amazing blog and I check it out daily. Well I had the pleasure of participating in the October Package Pals. Jamie hosts a Package Pals 4 times a year and it was seriously fantastic. I was paired up with Heather over at Crafting and Cooking.

When the package arrived I was ecstatic.

A big bag of rubber bands
A bundle of cute yellow and gray fabrics
Crayons for each of the kids {which they loved!}
Adorable Christmas coasters
Alphabet stickers
A cute Yellow Safety Pin scarf {which I wore he very next day to the Pumpkin Patch}

And washers and ribbon to create an awesome necklace. I ended up spray painting the washers gold and using black ribbon for the necklace. I love how it turned out!

Thanks again Heather!

Here's what I sent to Heather:

I made her an apron for her crafting and her cooking adventures. {Tutorial coming soon}

Three of my favorite notebooks that I found out about at my Favorite Things Party

Washi Tape. Oh the possibilities.

{3 dozen} Holiday gift tags that I cut out on my silhouette.

And an event stamp. You can change the date and tagline. It's awesome.

I love getting packages in the mail. And when they are filled with crafting goodies I love them even more. Thanks Jamie for putting this all together!

Have you ever done a package exchange?

Have you entered my giveaway? You have until Sunday to do so.

My FAVORITE day of the year...

is TODAY! It's my husbands, my sons and my daughters birthday. Seriously, all 3 of my loves were born today. How I love 11-19!

We had a BIG birthday bash on Saturday and had a family celebration today. It has been an amazing few days.

I'll be doing a post later, with more in depth photos and details of the festivities but here's a little glimpse into the fun:

Jaxon,
I can't believe you are 3! You are such a joy. I love your sense of humor and your personality makes me laugh and smile and makes me so proud each and every day. You are so smart and remember everything. I love watching you learn and grow. You amaze me. You are so friendly and happy. You want to do everything by yourself and it still amazes me at all the things you figure out and teach yourself. You are an amazing older brother and take such good care of your baby sissy. You love arts and always want to do crafts with me. It melts my heart. You are such a good host and always make sure that our guests are always taken care of. You always make sure everyone has a 'snack' and a drink and you love to plan a party. {I have taught you well!} You know EVERY super hero and remember every story. You love games and love learning. {All your fathers doing!} Thank you for turning me into a mother. You truly changed my life and I thank the lord daily for bringing you into my life.

Chloe,
You are 2! How time flys. You bring such a sweetness into our home. I could cuddle you all day, every day. I love your sweet and gentle countenance. You radiant love. You are such a talker and you are constantly learning. You want to do everything your brother does and you do! It amazes me how fast you are learning and comprehending. Your personality keeps me on my toes and constantly laughing. You are all diva. You love clothes, make-up, painting your nails and anything girly. I LOVE that you always have to have a bow in your hair at all times. Even while sleeping. You cry from your crib if it even falls out of your hair in the middle of the night. It's pretty adorable. You always have to have your purse when we go out and your love for Minnie Mouse is the cutest. Every skirt you put on, every shirt, every pair of shoes is all 'like Minnie Mouse'. And each and every one of your bows is a 'Minnie Mouse Bow'. I love the way you love your brother. You are best friends and I hope that never changes. Although a bit premature, your love for Justin Bieber is awesome. I am so blessed to have you as my daughter. I love you babydoll.

Scott,
The OG of the 11-19. You are my best friend. I love you more than words. Thank you for putting up with me. For ALWAYS being on my side and for having my back. You work so hard to provide for us and for that I am ever grateful. You are so easy going and I love having you as my husband. Thank you for turning me into a wife, a mother and a better friend. You keep me balanced and always being out the best in me. You are the best father to Jaxon and Chloe. Thank you for sharing your birthday with both of them. {They are for sure the BEST 2 birthday gifts I ever could have given you}

Love you all so much,
Mommy

Enough of the mushiness. I thought with all the celebration going on, it only be right to do a giveaway! My Owl Rice Bags have been selling great this season and I only have ONE left in stock. I will be making more {once I return from our Thanksgiving trip} but this last one could be YOURS.

Busy. Busy. Busy.

Is it just me or as the Holidays approach does time start moving faster and faster? There's a part of me that feels like I just posted about my Pumpkin Patch adventure yesterday. But no, it's been a week and a half. It's not that there has been a lack of things going on around these parts that I haven't had anything to write. Quite the opposite.

I should be in bed trying to get some sleep, but with feeling overwhelmed {to say the least} about my upcoming week, I need to get my tasks written down. So I stay on track!

I started working this week. Yes working. No not just watching kids and doing craft shows but actual scheduled shifts at a new job. I haven't had a 'job' in two and a half years so it's been weird wrapping my head around the concept.

And of course said new job started this week. A busy week. Real busy. The last two days have seemed like a blur. Watching the kids all day while trying to get some crafting done for Oh Sweet Sadie and trying to get caught up around the house with cleaning and laundry before the festivities of the weekend hit. Then as soon as my husband got home it was off to work. Then grocery shopping and crafting last night after work and SOA and girl time tonight with my darling Whitney.

If I seem spacey over the next couple days forgive me. This is what awaits me:

Wednesday: Target & Harmons & Post Office {to mail off some Etsy orders}before heading to work at 10:00am. Then off to Activity Days straight from work until 5:30. Then heading up to the Oh Sweet Sadie Craft show and to Tai Pan.

Thursday: Finish sewing crafts for the party. Laundry. Making banners for said party.  {Hopefully the kids will cooperate as I try to craft and entertain them all day} Grocery shopping for party. Then Breaking Dawn 2 at 10:30.

Friday: Baking and cooking for the parties. Deep cleaning for company coming over. Finishing touches on party plans.

Saturday: Birthday Bash. Set up and decorating. Kids party from 4-7. Scott's party from 7-midnight.

Sunday: relax

Monday: ELEVEN 19!!! The actual birthday of all of my loves. An eventful family day!

Tuesday: Laundry and packing. Shopping for Thanksgiving. Work.

Wednesday: Work & then heading to Brian Head straight from work until Sunday.

Some of you may think that this isn't too much. But with 2 toddlers wanting to play/wrestle/dance/cook/draw every minute of the day, it's hard to squeeze everything in.

That being said I could not be more excited for the upcoming week. It's THE BIRTHDAY! Then heading to spend 5 days with my family in Brian Head for Thanksgiving. Can't Wait.

How do you juggle all the holiday festivities? Are you as overwhelmed as I am?

Girls Night Out: Pumpkin Patch

The night before Halloween I spent the evening with a few of my girlfriends. It was a perfect Fall night. We went to a Pumpkin Patch in Springville and ran around like we were 5 years old. So. Much. Fun.

Whitney, Me, Brittany & Jeanette.

The maze was a bit confusing.

I got lost, and was way sad about it.

Twinner boots = besties

After playtime at the Patch we got some delicious dinner at La Castita. It really was an amazing night. I love these ladies so much. And a special thanks to Jeanette for taking all the pictures.

Whitney and I finished off the night with a little Halloween shopping and then stuffing Halloween goodie bags while watching SOA.

Have you gone to any pumpkin patches this fall?

Kirkin' O' th' Tartan

This past Sunday we went to the Kirkin' O' th' Tartan. Every year on Reformation Sunday {usually the last Sunday in October} we attend this special service at the First Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake. Kirkin' O' th' Tartan means the blessing of the tartans {or families}. Every year the minister gives each clan a special blessing. My husbands family has gone for as long as he can remember to celebrate their Scottish roots.

It really is an amazing service. Complete with a full procession from the Salt Lake Scots bagpipe band and a social hour {with complementary shortbread}. We look forward to this service every year. We are all obsessed with the bagpipes {especially the kiddos} and the blessings are always beautiful. If you are local you should definitely check it out.

{trying} to get a group shot

Right after the procession of the Salt Lake Scots.

The backs of Senator Hatch and Governor Herbert's heads. We sat two rows behind them. {See...this service is a big deal}

Chloe and Grandma Karen

Jaxon in his plaid.

They gave every kid a goodie bag before the service. Complete with snacks, crayons, paper, stickers and a DIY bookmark kit. Genius.

Evie and Chloe decked out in plaid, sharing snacks.

Staying quite with their goodie bags.

Nichole and I after the service. We were feeling the same color palet.
